SUMMARY: The City of Bremerton applied for and received funding from the Recreation and
Conservation Office's Youth Athletic Facilities grant in the amount of $250,000 for improvements to
the Manette Park Athletic Field. A major scope item was the replacement of the failing wooden light
poles and incandescent light fixtures. The existing 8 wooden poles show signs of decay and have
reached their useful service life. The upgraded system will feature 4 steel poles located away from
the play surface and new energy efficient LED light fixtures featuring reduced light spillage into the
neighborhood. Additionally, an upgraded lighting control system will provide for integration into
existing computer controlled scheduling applications.
Equipment pricing has been competitively solicited and publicly awarded through the King County
Directors Association Purchasing Cooperative (KCDA). Total Equipment Cost: $70,060 plus WSST.

Move to approve the purchase of athletic field lighting equipment from Musco Sports Lighting LLC
through the King County Directors Association Purchasing Cooperative in the amount of $70,060
plus Washington State sales.
