SUMMARY: The City entered into an agreement with Matthew W. Cockrell & Associates, P.C.
("Cockrell") on February 9, 2018, for legal services to undertake a recovery matter against historic
comprehensive general liability policies of insurance. The City agrees to pay Cockrell, only if the City
receives recoveries, a contingency fee of 10% of the recoveries accepted by the City. It is unknown
at this time if the contingency fee will exceed the Director's authority, therefore Council approval is
requested.
