SUMMARY: The Bremerton Municipal Code authorizes the Risk Management Specialist, with the
approval of the City Attorney, to bind insurance and then requires City Council approval for
continuation of the bound coverage. The City needs to increase its pollution liability insurance
coverage limits in order to comply with various leases related to its outfalls within Department of
Natural Resources properties. An excess policy has been bound with XL Catlin to provide the
additional coverage necessary. The new policy term will expire on May 16, 2019 to coincide with the
City's current pollution liability insurance. The premium for the term is $24,459.08.
