6A — AMENDMENT TO SERVICES REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT WITH KITSAP COUNTY

Riley, Financial Services Assistant Director, summarized that the City of Bremerton and the Kitsap
Public Health District wish to amend a Services Reimbursement Agreement by extending the current
term and expiration date of the agreement to December 31, 2018. This is a cooperative effort in
which the City will reimburse the Health District for its payments to the Salvation Army for security
services located at its 6th Street facility. Robin O'Grady, Program Coordinator with Kitsap Connect;
and Sheryl A. Piercy, Social Services Director with the Salvation Army, summarized further details
and answered questions regarding the services provided.
The amendment shall increase the reimbursement amount not to exceed $60,000, including the
$30,000 already budgeted in 2017. The 2018 Non -Departmental budget includes an additional
$30,000 for this purpose.
Terry Fessner doesn't understand why Kitsap Connect is charged to lease space at the Salvation
Army; and also doesn't understand why the City has to pay for security guards when the taxpayers
already pay for City Police Officers.
