HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/17/2018 6GAGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON 6G CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Illumination Upgrades by Puget Study Session Date: January 1`0, 2018 Sound Energy on SR303 (Wheaton Way) COUNCIL MEETING Date: January 17, 2018 from Sheridan Road to NE Riddell Road Department: PW&U Presenter: Tom Knuckey Phone: 360.473.2376 SUMMARY: At the City's request, Puget Sound Energy completed an evaluation of lighting on Wheaton Way between Sheridan Road and Riddell Road. Recommended improvements would convert all existing high pressure sodium fixtures to LED and increase the total number of fixtures along the corridor from 19 to 40. The lighting upgrade will improve illumination along the corridor to meet roadway lighting standards at all intersections, and nearly everywhere else throughout the corridor. Installation of the lighting will cost $26,691.76, plus traffic control for the upgrade of existing lights which is estimated to be less than $1,000. These lighting upgrades will increase annual energy/maintenance charge to PSE by approximately $6,000.
