A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington authorizing submission of an application
for a Five Star & Urban Waters Restoration Program Grant from
the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation for Kitsap Lake Park.
WHEREAS, authorization is needed to submit an application for National Fish &
Wildlife grant funding;
WHEREAS, nine acres of Kitsap Lake Park's wetland, public boat launch, fishing
pier and swimming areas are engulfed with aquatic weeds negatively impacting habitat and water
quality;
WHEREAS, grant funding will enable aquatic weed removal and community
outreach with lakeside property owners to foster long-term stewardship of Kitsap Lake;
NOW THERFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION]. The recitals above are incorporated as if fully set forth herein.
SECTION2. The Mayor, or the Mayor's designee, is authorized to make formal
application to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation's Five Star & Urban Waters
Restoration Program Grant for funding assistance. The application form is attached hereto as
Exhibit A.
SECTION 3. Severability. If any one or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity of the remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
