SUMMARY: The Avamere Memory Care Facility is located in West Bremerton between 9th and 11th
Streets just east of Adele Avenue. During construction of the CSO Reduction program, several
areas were left connected to the combined sewer system due to the high cost of separation. This is
one such area. This new line conveys storm sewage through the new development to the combined
system. The new line will be used as a component of a separated storm system should a project
separate flows in the future. In order to construct new sewers with sufficient capacity to handle
expected system flows, the City has partnered with the property owner to upsize their sewers as
allowed per BMC 15.03.070. Under the agreement, the property owner constructed 24 -inch diameter
pipe and appurtenances instead of 12 -inch pipe and appurtenances, with the City responsible to
reimburse the difference in material cost only.
ATTACHMENTS: 1) Reimbursement Agreement with Exhibits
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The cost of the larger pipe and appurtenances was
estimated at $46,151, and will be funded from the Wastewater Fund
