SUMMARY: A brine maker is essential during winter as it helps prevent ice buildup on the road and
saves thousands of man hours that would be used on sanding alone. The existing brine maker is
about five years old; being held together by ratchet straps and is unable to be repaired. The
replacement brine maker takes out human error, offers better features and is capable of producing
up to 800 gallons of brine per batch. The company for this brine maker is Cargill Deicing Technology
Inc. of North Olmsted, OH. Staff will utilize the NJPA Contract. The total amount is $33,193.70
including Washington State' sales tax and shipping.
