SUMMARY: The existing dry -pit submersible pumps at pump station KL -3 & 4 and OB -3 & 4 have
reached the end of their useful life, and need to be replaced. These pumps have been installed over
sixteen years, and the required repairs to keep them on-line have reached the point to where it is no
longer financially feasible.
We requested a quote from Granich Engineered Products, Inc. for the direct replacement of these
pumps at a cost of $15,000 each (includes WA State sales tax & shipping). This is an equipment
purchase only, and staff will do the installation.
Granich is the only provider of Fairbanks Morse pumps in Western Washington. Fairbanks Morse
pumps are currently used and do not require modification to the surrounding equipment, whereas
another brand of pump would require additional work.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This is budgeted through the 2017 WW CIP, with a
budget of $80,000.00.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the purchase of four (4) dry -pit submersible pumps from Granich Engineered
Products, Inc. for $60,000, including Washington State sales tax and shipping; with substantially the
same terms and conditions as presented.
