It requires an agency to establish a statement of costs after notice and a public hearing. Additionally, the bill defines the maximum costs an agency may charge for providing public records. The bill is effective July 23, 2017. To be able to charge the maximum costs after this date, the City Council must hold a public hearing and adopt the new costs.
