SUMMARY: The current electrical power at Pump Station KL -2 (1976 Price Road) is 480v corner
grounded delta, and it needs to be upgraded to a true "Y" 277/480v connection.The existing power is
inherently unsafe for staff to work on and has continued to cause motor/pump and generator issues
at the station.
We requested a proposal from PSE (Puget Sound Energy), and they provided a quote of $39,616.86
to install the new pad mounted transformer and electrical conductors.
This electrical upgrade will ensure a much more efficient electrical system and it will be a lot safer to
work on.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This electrical upgrade at pump station KL -2 is
budgeted through the 2017 WW CIP, and has a budget of $250,000. The total cost for the electrical
upgrade is $39,616.86
