and replace Ordinance No. 5300 regarding COUNCIL MEETING Date: July 5, 2017

SUMMARY: The attached ordinance will complete the City's proposed limited minor amendments to
the Shoreline Master Program (SMP). The City Council completed a minor update to the SMP in May
2016. The SMP was then forwarded to the Department of Ecology for their public review and
approval. Ecology has recommended approval with two required and two recommended changes.
The attached ordinance incorporates all recommended and required changes as can be seen in the
attached Exhibits to the Ordinance.
Ordinance No. 5300 was passed by Council in May 2016 and it was intended to be finalized after
Ecology's review and approval. Due to the fact that Ecology required revisions this ordinance will
repeal and replace Ordinance No. 5300. The new ordinance will include all of Council's adopted
changes to the SMP and ecology's recommendations for the SMP limited amendments. With the
adoption of this ordinance, the SMP minor update will finally be completed.
