installation of rain gardens and other low impact development in the Anderson Cove basin to avoid
Combined Sewer Overflows during storm events using green infrastructure.
The Kitsap Conservation District will be contracted to complete site visits, designs, and installations
because of their extensive rain garden experience and proven success with similar programs.
Selected recipients will receive rain garden excavation, construction, and materials. The landowner
will contribute the cost of a portion of the plants and their own labor to the extent possible. The
project will offer resources to teach people to care for their rain gardens and other plantings using
natural methods.
