SUMMARY: Currently the Public Works & Utilities Department does not have a low boy trailer to
safely move the Forestry excavator and the Street Department. asphalt grinder. Forestry staff
researched and received three proposals for low boy trailers. The lowest responsive proposal that
met all of our required specifications was from Pape Machinery Inc. of Tacoma WA, in the amount of
$65,383.05 (includes tax).
The low boy trailer is a 2017 Trail King TK70HDG, which meets all of our required specifications.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): 594.34324.56410.4527, Forestry CIP with a budget
of $225,000.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the purchase of a 2017 Trail King TK70HDG Low Boy Equipment Trailer from Pape
Machinery Inc. of Tacoma, WA for $65,383.05; and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the
purchase with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
