SUMMARY: Claremont East Retirement Apartments currently. leases 3,700 square feet of paved
park property and 1,000 square feet of City right-of-way, located north of the Sheridan Park
Community Center on the south side of Juniper Street for employee parking. This lease will expire
on January 9t", 2017 and representatives for Claremont have requested an extension of the lease for
another 10 year term. On October 25, 2016, the Parks and Recreation Commission made a
recommendation to City Council to approve anew lease. The Public Works Department has agreed
to issue a permit to allow use of 1,000 square feet of the Juniper Street right-of-way. In consideration
for use of the leased City property, Claremont East will pay the City a monthly fee of $411.93 plus
lease hold excise tax and provide the required liability insurance policy naming the City as
additionally insured.
