HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/21/2016 7B0 AGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON 7B CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Authorize the addition of a Civil Study Session Date: Engineer II to the Public Works & Utilities COUNCIL MEETING Date: Department; and amend the FY -2017 City of Department: Bremerton Budget Presenter: Phone: December 14, 2016 December 21, 2016 PW&U Tom Knuckey (360) 473-2376 SUMMARY: Staff request that a Transportation Engineer (CEII) be restored to the Department of Public Works & Utilities. The position is essential for delivery of all programmed Capital Projects in 2017, and justified based on ongoing capital and operational workload. Addition of the position will allow the Division to develop work plans for implementation of sidewalk improvements related to the $100,000 ADA Transition Plan and the Residential street and sidewalk program, as well as a host of other operational activities that have been delayed. ATTACHMENTS: 1) Council Summary 2) Power Point Presentation FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The position would be budgeted at $118,500. For 2017, $80,000 of the cost of the position would be funded by grant funding for the Highway Safety, Commerce, and Safe Routes to Schools grants, with the remaining $38,500 from Street Fund and General Fund Engineering.
