SUMMARY: The Fire department is proposing to have two (2) paramedic ambulances remounted/
refurbished. The 2003 and 2006 vehicles will have a new Dodge diesel chassis place under their
current boxes. The boxes would have modifications and be refurbished. This process has been
done by neighboring fire districts and has been cost effective. The total cost of the remount/refurbish
would be $269,225.21which includes and taxes. The estimated cost to purchase two totally brand
new ambulances would be approximately$450,000. The Fire Department is proposing to use the
sole source provision on this proposal.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This is budgeted through the Public Safety Bond.
The total cost for the RemounURefurbish for two (2) is $269,225.21 (includes tax).
