There has only been one loan funded with this program and the City runs the risk of losing the rest of the funds. City Council Reg. Mtg. Minutes , Wednesday, September 21, 2016 Page 3 of 3 COUNCIL MEMBER REPORTS Richard Huddv announced that the 29th Annual Bremerton Central Lions Dinner and Auction on Saturday, October 15 will benefit the Bremerton High School Band Program "Knights in Harmony". Greq Wheeler stated that volunteers are needed for the next Kiwanis Field Work Party on Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM; provided an update on the College Instruction Center Project and surrounding parking; and was troubled to learn that the only reason the City Council was informed of the turmoil taking place in the Public Works Department was because an article was going to be printed in the Kitsap Sun newspaper about it. And as Chair of the Public Works Committee, he emphasized the role of the committee is to discuss current and upcoming projects, and budget timelines -they do not discuss or ask questions about personnel issues. It is the Mayor who is responsible for personnel issues, and it is the Mayor's prerogative to decide when and how much information will be shared with the City Council. He also added that as the Legislative branch of the City government, it is the City Council who would approve of any reorganization. He expressed his concern for the morale of City employees and staff, and stated that communication and trust are the solutions to creating a positive working environment. Jerrv McDonald shared that Dylan Fabrics on Pacific Avenue is now open; Elixer Fixer located next to the Manette Saloon will host its Open House and Grand Opening on Saturday, October 1 from 12:00 to 6:00 PM; and Nightshade located near Whitey Domstad Vista Park is also now open.
