All departments have approved the installation of the tank with, the exception of the Utilities Department, which had the following comments, of which I believe you are already aware: The following comments shall be met at the proposed gasoline pumping site to meet best storm water management guidelines: The fueling area around the pumps shall be a concrete surface, which drains into the sanitary sewer system. An oil/water separator will be installed between the fuel island drain and connection to the sewer. A gate valve shall be installed after the separator. The concrete pad should be covered to prevent storm water from entering the sanitary sewer. The impervious surfaces surrounding the concrete pad shall be graded to drain into the storm water system. If a canopy is provided over the pumps to comply with the Utilities' requirements, then the canopy structure must be reviewed by the Building and Planning Departments for conformance with the Uniform Building Code and the Bremerton Zoning Ordinance, As we have discussed, most fuel pump canopies are pre-engineered, and the Building Department will accept stamped structural plans for review. . 239 4TH STREET . BREMERTON, WA 98310 An (Jjual Or'f"J"Unily fmpltJ1jer '''" '< If you have any questions, you may contact the Building Department at (206)478-5275. Sincerely, J~qlA.-,~~ Janet Lunceford Bldg. and Dev. An environmental impact statement (EIS) must be prepared for all proposals with probable signilica!'lt adverse impacts 0n the quality of the environment. The purpose of this :hecklist is to provide information to help YOU and the ..lgency identify impacts from your proposal (and to reduce or avoid impacts from the proposal. if it can be done) and to help the ;lgenCj decide whether an EIS is required. Instructions for Applicants: This environmental checklist asks you to describe some basic information about your proposal. Governmental agen- cies use this checklist to determine whether the environmental impacts of your proposal are significant. requiring preparation of an EIS, Answer the questions brielly. with the most precise information known. or give the best de. scription you can. In most cases. you should be able to answer the questions from your own observations or project plans without the need to hire experts. If you really do not know the answer. or if a question does not apply to your proposal, write "do not know" or "does not ap- ply". Complete answers to the questions now may avoid unnecessary delays later, Some questions ask about governmental regulations. such as zoning, shoreline, and landmark designations. Answer these questions if you can. If you have problems, the governmental agencies can assist you. The checklist questions apply to all parts of your proposal. even if you plan to do them over a period of time or on different parcels of land. Attach any additional information that will help describe your proposal or its environmental effects. The agency to which you submit this checklist may ask you to explain your answers or provide additional in- formation reasonably related to determining if there may be significant adverse impact. CITY OF BREMERTON ENVIRONMENTAL CHECKLIST Introduction: The State Environmental Policy Act of 1971, Chapter 43.21C, RCW, requires all state and local government- al agencies to consider environmental values both for their own actions and when licensing private proposals. The Act also requires that an Environmental Impact Statement be pre- pared for all major actions significantly affecting the quality of the environment. The purpose of this checklist 1S to help the agencies involved determine whether or not a proposal is such a major action. Please answer the following questions as completely as you can with the information presently available to you, Where explan- ations of your answers are required, or where you believe an explanation would be helpful to government decision ~akers; include your e~planation on additional pages, (All yes an~ maybe answers require an explanation. Use quantitative informa- tion in your answers where~licable.) You should include references to any reports or studies of which you are aware and which are relevant to the answers you provide. CONplete answers to these questions now will help all agencies involved with your proposal to undertake the required environ- mental review without unnecessary delay. The following questions apply to your total proposal, not just to the license for which you are currently applying or the pro- posal for which approval is sought. Your answers should include the secondary impacts which will be caused by your proposal when it is completed, even though completion may not occur until some- time in the future. This will allow all of the agencies which will be involved to complete their environmental review now, with- out duplicating paperwork in the future. NOTE: This is a standard form being used by all state and local agencies in the State of Washington for various types of proposals. Many of the questions may not apply to your proposal, If a ques- tion does not apply, just answer it "no" and continue on to the next question, ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT FEE--$50.00 ~ . _ CITY OF BRElvlERTON ENVIRONMENTAL CHECKLIST FORM DATE RECEIVED e ) I.
