This letter is to also be submitted as Public Comment for the same topic moved to the upcoming City Council Meeting on 9-21-2016. Dear City Council, After review of the current study session agenda, I wanted to take this opportunity to put forward my positive personal experiences this past year, as a city resident and user, with the Gold Mountain Golf Course and its manager, Daryl Matheny. Thanks in large part to the generous contribution by the City of Bremerton toward the Bremerton School District and its High School Boys and Girls Golf programs, this past year was quite a wonderful experience for our family and for my student athlete. Coach's Devin Loudon and Ivaly Alexander make sure that all of the High School Golf players fully understand what a privilege it is to have the use of such a top notch facility as Gold Mountain as their home course. Bremerton Golf ended with a winning season this year and my own athlete Nick Smidt managed to letter in Boys Golf his Freshman year(picture attached). Daryl is always a pleasure to work with. His staff at Gold Mountain are professional, hardworking, helpful and always add to the fun atmosphere which includes additional opportunities such as Jr. Golf Camps throughout the summer. These camps encourage and develop new and younger users within our community towards taking up and playing the game of golf. As a resident and taxpayer, I continue to be pleased with the improvements happening at Gold Mountain and the often filled parking lot I have seen even during the middle of the week. Gold Mountain is a considerable asset to the City of Bremerton and I hope you will continue to support it and the existing management team.
