Subject property consists of a single two story structure occupying approximately 50% of the
property with the remainder being graveled and asphalted parking area. The building is of
open bay construction on both floors The two floors are joined by a single stairway with two
overhea.d garage doors providing access to the upper and lower floors.
The building j s built of wood v.~th wood and cement asbestos board exterior siding which was
found to be in servic:eable condition with small impacted areas and some very small pieces of
the c~ment asbestos board on the ground. The interior floor covering consists of wood and
vinyl products. The vinyl tile was found to contain asbestos and the condition was found to
be serviceable with isolated areas of impacted or crumbled vinyl material. The sheetrock walls
and ceilings were tbund to be non-asbestos containing and the ceiling tiles were fOWld to be
non-asbestos containing. The paper tape and cloth associated with the furnace and furnace
ducting were found to contain asbestos but to be in serviceable condition although the furnace
is not being used at this time.

In summary, the asbestos containing materials found inside (vinyl floor covering and furnace
ducting) and outside (cement asbestos. board siding) were found to be in slightly deteriorated
condition needing only to have the small detencm'ited pieces of flooring and siding picked up
and containerized for disposal in accordance with Washington State Department of Labor &
lndustries and Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency regulations and guidelines which
are available by contacting (a) Washington State Department of Labor and Industries,
Division of Industrial Safety and Health, PO. Box: 44610, Olympia, WA 98504-4610
(206/956-5434) and (b) Puget Sound Air Pollution Control Agency, 110 Union Street, Room
500, Seatile, WA 98101 (206l343-8800). Additionally, any remodeling of the interior or the
exterior of the building that impacts the asbestos containing siding,' flooring or furnace
equipment places the scope of work clearly within the concept of an asbestos removal project
and therefore necessitates the services of a Washington State certified asbestos abatement
company
For the building to be used in its present configuration,. warehouse bulk storage, a very limited
cleanup of deteriorated floor covering and exterior siding would be required, For extensive
remodeling or demolition of the building it would be appropriate to remove the entire asbestos
containing exterior siding as well as the asbestos containing materials inside the building so as
not to be hindered by ongoing small scale removal projects, An option to the above would be
to' cover over the exterior siding with an additional layer of non-asbestos containing siding,
and install a new sub-tIoor and .tlooring surface over the present asbestos containing vinyl
floor covering. llnd partitioning off (enclosing) the furnace and furnace ducts, however this
option will inevitably result in an increased expense at a later date.
