CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, August 24, 2005
The weekly meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the City Council
Chambers, of the NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER 345 6th Street, Bremerton, Washington,
Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at 5:30 PM, with Council President Daren Nygren presiding. Council
members present were Mike Short, Will Maupin, Carol Arends, Dianne Robinson, Mike Shepherd, Cecil
McConnell, and Brad Gehring. Council Member Wendy Priest was absent. Also present were City
Attorney Roger Lubovich and Council Assistant Christine Grenier.
The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Cecil McConnell followed by the invocation
provided by Council Member Carol Arends.
President Nyqren announced that a Pre-Council session was held in Council Conference Room 603
from 5:00 to 5:30 P.M.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Dianne Robinson congratulated Jean Shanen and Glen Huff of the 1100 block of Bloomington, who
were 3fd Place winners in the Northwest Gardens Contest for their award winning garden which was
featured in the Seattle Post Intelligencer Newspaper; and announced that Kitsap Community Resources
will be handing out back-backs to low income students on August 31 from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Brad Gehrina attended the opening day of the Kitsap County Fair and Rodeo and encouraged the
public to attend as well.

With no further business, the meeting of the City Council was adjourned at 5:35 P.M. The Council
remained seated for Item No. 1 of the STUDY SESSION. The Council then reconvened in the Council
Conference Room 603 for a STUDY SESSION to hear presentations on the remaining agenda items.
