SUMMARY: We currently have two Allen-Bradley 1336+ VFDs in operation at pump station CE-4,
which are over nineteen years old and are no longer supported by the manufacturer.
The finro pumps in operation at pump station CE-4 are scheduled to be replaced later this summer,
which is an ideal time for the VFDs to be upgraded. The replacement of the VFDs was built into the
current pump replacement budget due to their age and the inability to obtain replacement parts
should they fail.
We sought proposals from Allen-Bradley and Siemens for the 200 H.P. VFDs, and selected the
Allen-Bradley VFDs as the Siemens VFDs would not fit into the existing space at the pump station.
The cost for the two Allen-Bradley VFDs from North Coast Electric for pump station CE-4 is
$42,723.45, (including tax)

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The VFDs are budgeted through the Wastewater
CIP, and has a budgeted amount of$400,000. The total cost for the purchase of two new Allen-
Bradley VFDs is $42,723.45, (including tax).
