SUMMARY: The City received a $692,000 grant through KRCC for the Bremerton Crosswalks
Improvement Project, which improves pedestrian crossings at Kitsap Way at Harlow Drive, and the
intersections of Kitsap Way & 11�' Street, High Avenue 8� 11th Street, High Avenue &6�' Street, and
SR304 & 1S'Street.
Bids were opened on June 10, 2016, with 2 bids received. Massana Construction Inc. was the
lowest responsive, responsible bidder at$ 688,455.00, including sales tax.
ATTACHMENTS: 1) Site Plan; 2) Contract; and 3) Bid Tab
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The project is included in the 2015 and 2016 CIP at
$800,000. To award the bid, additional funding of approximately$65,000 is needed. We recommend
the project budget be adjusted to $900,000. Funding is available from the Transportation Capital
Improvement Fund.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to award the contract to Massana Construction Inc. in the amount of$688,455.00 for the
Bremerton Crosswalks Improvement Project; and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the
agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
