Subarea Plan
SUMMARY: Pursuant to the Growth Management Act (GMA) schedule provided in RCW
36.70A.130, the City of Bremerton is required, to be in compliance with State requirements, to update
the Comprehensive Plan by June 30, 2016 (to plan finrenty years out, until 2036). The City Council
established a Work Program (Resolution No. 3237 on November 19, 2014) after the development
and publication of the District Profiles. That Work Program identified the Public Participation Plan to
ensure robust public involvement through the process. The Planning Commission followed the Work
Program set by City Council and provided a unanimous recommendation of approval of the 2016
Comprehensive Plan proposed update after eight workshops, two open houses, and a Public
Hearing (hearing held on November 17, 2015). The affiliated subarea plans were included to be
updated in the Work Program and will require amendments to be consistent with the Comprehensive
Plan update. The Manette Subarea Plan is being proposed to be repealed as the plan has been
incorporated into the Comprehensive Plan (and development regulations). More information on the
