SUMMARY: The two existing Chicago SP5 pumps have reached the end of their useful life, as
replacement parts have become non-existent.
We are proposing to replace both of these pumps with two Flygt dry-pit submersible pumps, utilizing
Sole Source Resolution No. 3165. I have reviewed the current pricing and discounts with Whitney
Equipment, and they are still applicable with the intent of the Sole Source Resolution #3165.
The cost for the purchase of the two Flygt dry-pit submersible pumps from Whitney Equipment for
Pump Station KL-2 is $149,861.59, (including tax &freight).

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This pump purchase is budgeted through the
Wastewater CIP and has a budgeted amount of$375,000. The total cost for the purchase of two new
Flygt dry-pit submersible pumps is $149,861.59, (including tax &freight).
