SUMMARY: The work under this contract consists of modifications to the potable water intake facility at
McKenna Falls, including replacement of 36" transmission piping, screen replacement, and channel
modifications to reduce maintenance requirements.
The project was advertised on February 3, 2016. Bids were received from eight contractors, which were
opened on February 25, 2016. The apparent low, responsive, responsible bidder was Nordic
Construction, Inc. in the amount of $862,838.86 (which includes sales tax). Engineers estimated
construction cost is $930,000.00.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The project is fully funded for $1,200,000 in the
2016 Water fund budget.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the bid for the McKenna Falls Intake Improvements Project from Nordic
Construction, Inc. in the amount of$862,838.86; and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the
agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
