SUMMARY: The approved 2016 budget includes purchase of an excavator and various
attachments for the Forestry Division. After researching many brands and models available with low
hours, staff chose a 2009 John Deere 135D tracked excavator from United Rentals of Bremerton
WA. The total cost of this machine and one extra "muck" bucket at$83,807.70 including Washington
State sales tax. It is our intent to purchase a machine locally so that the portion of sales tax remains
within the City of Bremerton. Additional attachments will be bought separately.
ATTACHMENTS: 1) Memorandum 2) Copy of quote from 134205782 from United Rentals
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): This is an addition to the fleet and funding will come
from Water Utility Capital then will be transferred to fund 510(ERR). The budget amount is $240,000.
