SUMMARY: Public Art is recognized as a stimulus to the vitality, economy and culture of our
community, enhancing the quality of life for ~ll citizens because of its public nature. The proposed
ordinance establishes a City of Bremerton Arts Commission and a One Percent (1 %) for Arts Program
for the City. Further, the proposed ordinance establishes procedures for the acquisition and display of
art for the One Percent (1 %) for Arts Program.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The preliminary 2006 Capital Improvement plan
expenditures qualified as 1% for the Arts Improvements is $2,336,500 which would result in $23,365
increase adjustment to the current proposed project budgets.
