SUMMARY: The City will be replacing the screening equipment and modifying the concrete channel
at the McKenna Falls Intake Facility, which is the primary intake for the City's surface water supply
into the drinking water system. The screening equipment is 40+years old and must be replaced. In
order to complete the work prior to the summer months, the City is pre-purchasing the screening
equipment since it has a long lead time for delivery. The construction(installation) contract will be a
separate contract titled McKenna Falls Infake Improvements Project, which will be bid in February
2016.
One vendor submitted bids. Hendrick Screen Company of Owensboro, Kentucky was the lowest
responsible, responsive bidder in the amount of$87,231.99.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The construction of this project is included in the
2016 budget in the amount of$1,200,000.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the contract with
Hendrick Screen Company of Owensboro, Kentucky in the amount of$87,231.99 for McKenna Falls
Intake Improvements Project—Screening and Air Backwash System Procurement with substantially
the same terms and conditions as presented.
