Summarv
The City needs to settle up fixed assets that are currently in either Utility Funds and/or General
Government funds. The way projects are carried out in the City, assets are constructed in the fund
where the primary work is being completed, i.e. a water main replacement project. The Utility needs to
tear up the roadway, sidewalks and street lamps in order to access its assets/infrastructure.The Utility
completes the water main replacement and reconstructs the roadway, sidewalk and street lamps.
These assets are General Government in nature and are maintained in a governmental fund, therefore
the assets need to be contributed to the General government, and vice versa for the Utility assets
constructed in a General Government project where the Utilities were affected.
