SUMMARY: The Highway Safety Improvements Phase 2 project will construct pedestrian
improvements at 7 locations city-wide and includes new curb ramps, ADA signals, lighting, pavement
markings, and enhanced safety features at select locations. Four consultants were interviewed to
design the improvements and KPG of Tacoma, WA was selected. The requested action is approval
of the Local Agency Professional Services Cost Plus Fixed Fee Consultant Agreement with KPG for
design of the Highway Safety Improvements Phase 2 Project.
ATTACHMENTS: Local Agency Agreement
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The agreement identifies the design cost at
$138,933.47.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the Local Agency Professional Services Cost Plus Fixed Fee Consultant Agreement
with KPG in the amount of$138,933.47 and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the
agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
