SUMMARY: The Crownhill Elementary Safe Routes to Schools Sidewalk project will construct new
sidewalks along the east side of Marine Drive between Rocky Point Road and Bertha Avenue and
along Dora Avenue making connections between existing sidewalks and the school. Along with the
sidewalks, this project will also construct ADA ramps and enhanced safety features at the
intersection of Marine Drive and Dora Avenue. Four consultants were interviewed to design the
improvements and KPG of Tacoma, WA was selected. The requested action is approval of the Local
Agency Professional Services Cost Plus Fixed Fee Consultant Agreement with KPG for design of the
Crownhill Elementary Sidewalk Project.
ATTACHMENTS: Local Agency Agreement
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The agreement identifies the design cost at
$88,499.49.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to approve the Local Agency Professional Services Cost Plus Fixed Fee Consultant Agreement
with KPG in the amount of$88,499.49 and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the
agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
