SUMMARY: Currently Pump Stations (PS) OB-6 and EB-3 do not have emergency generators as
backup power for use during storms/power outages. Staffs have been shufFling our two existing
portable generators to each site to power up and pump down the stations, and this has required extra
personnel on overtime to accomplish this task.
We requested quotes from multiple vendors for a 60KW generator for PS OB-6 and a 100 KW
generator for PS EB-3, and Cummins NW was the lowest responsive vendor for supplying two (2)
reconditioned generators. Both of these units come with a one (1) year warranty. The cost for each
unit is as follows: 60 KW- 28 262.00 (including tax), 100 KW - $36, 958.00 (including tax).

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Included in 2015 WW CIP - 594.35325, $100,000
total budget, $50,000 budgeted for each station.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the purchase of the two generators from Cummins
NW in the amount of$65,220.00, and authorize the Mayor to finalize and execute the purchase with
substantially the same terms and conditions as presented.
