SUMMARY: The proposed ordinance amends Chapter 9.48 of the Bremerton Municipal Code by
limiting the time frame for applying for firework sale permits(May 1 —June 1); requiring applications
for Public Display permits to be submitted at least 30 days prior to the scheduled display; prohibiting
"Chinese Lanterns"and similar devices with open flames; authorizing the Fire Chief to prohibit all
fireworks during times of extreme fire danger; and authorizing the Police Chief or designee, in
addition to the Fire Chief or designee, to enforce Chapter 9.48, except those provisions wherein
authority is explicitly provided to the Fire Chief.
