CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES S�� O Z 2
Monday, August 31, 2015
A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Bremerton was called to order in the First Floor
M22t111g Cha�'1b2CS IOC8t2d In th2 NORM DICKS GOVERNMENT CENTER, 345 6th Street, Bremerton,
Washington, Monday, August 31, 2015, at 5:00 PM, with Council President Greg Wheeler
presiding. Council Members present were Eric Younger, Roy Runyon, Dino Davis, Jerry
McDonald, and Leslie Daugs. The District 1 Council seat was vacant. Also present were Amanda
Harvey, Assistant City Attorney; and Council Assistant Christine Grenier.
President Wheeler emphasized that the Special Meeting was open to the public but there would
be no opportunities for input or participation; that a majority vote would be required to appoint a
Council Member for an anticipated term of office that would begin September 2, 2015 and end
upon the certification of the next scheduled Municipal Election in 2017. It was also announced that
Tony Stephens withdrew his application for the District 1 seat.
1. The following applicants for the District 1 Appointment were interviewed; and in the same order
that their applications were received:
• Cynthia Triplett Galloway
• Patricia Sullivan
2. Council recessed for an 80-Minute Executive Session from 6:25 to 7:45 PM to "Evaluate the
Qualifications of Applicants" per RCW 42.30.110(1)(h). President Wheeler announced that
Council would take action immediately following the Executive Session.
3. Vote to Confirm Appointment of District 1 Council Member
By unanimous vote, Patricia Sullivan was appointed to the position of Council Member for
District 1 in the City of Bremerton, Washington with a term ending upon the certification of the
next scheduled Municipal Election in 2017.
President Wheeler announced that Ms. Sullivan will be sworn-in and seated during the
September 2, 2015 Council Meeting.
With no further business, the City Council Special Meeting was adjourned at 7:48 PM.
