These needs are to purchase electronic perimeter-surveillance equipment needed to protect and preserve valuable Police and City provided resources. Funds will also purchase ancillary prevention and education equipment which is needed to improve community policing services. These two construction fund areas have identified funding shortfalls or no allotted funds that could impact needed equipment purchases. Using grant sources, the Police Department is funding shortfalls and unfunded equipment requirements. The grant is from the Department of Justice. No matching funds are required of the City.
