SUMMARY: The Director of Community Development proposes to fill the vacant position of Senior
Planner with Kristin Moerler, a Bremerton resident who currently works as a planner for the City of
Gig Harbor. Ms. Moerler has extensive experience with project management and project lead for
large commercial site plans, subdivisions, shoreline and critical area review, SEPA compliance, and
design review. The Director has negotiated salary compensation with Ms. Moerler and proposes
making this appointment at Rate 6 of Pay Band 11. Pursuant to the appointment provisions
contained in BMC 2.50.032(a)this appointment above Rate 1 requires City Council approval.
ATTACHMENTS: Ms. Moerler's resume is on file with Human Resources
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): None. The salary can be accommodated within the
2015 personnel budget for DCD.
