A RESOLUTION of the City Council of the City of
Bremerton, Washington naming the new police headquarters "The
Art Morken Law Enforcement Center."
WHEREAS, Art Morken declicated 44 years to law enforcement in Bremerton and
Kitsap County; and
WHEREAS, he was responsible for instilling respect for law enforcement and
was devoted to the children of the community; and
WHEREAS, he is remembered by friends and colleagues as a "good cop," a
friend to the kids and was respected by all; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of Mr. Morken's contribution to the community, the
City Council desires to name the new police headquarters "The Art Morken Law Enforcement
Center; NOW, THEREFORE,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON, WASHINGTON,
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The new police headquarters shall be named "The Art Morken
Law Enforcement Center."
SECTION 2. Severability. If anyone or more sections, subsections, or
sentences of this Resolution are held to be unconstitutional or invalid, such decision shall not
affect the validity ofthe remaining portion of this Resolution and the same shall remain in full
force and effect.
SECTION 3. Effective Date. This resolution shall take effect and be in force
immediately upon its passage.
