SUMMARY: The stewardship of public funds is one of the greatest responsibilities given to the
officials and managers of the City of Bremerton. The establishment and maintenance of sound fiscal
policies is an important part of fulfilling that expectation. The City had previously adopted financial
policies and guidelines by Resolution No. 2095 on October 3, 1985- however, they are now almost 20
years old and are in need of updating and simplification. The proposed action establishes an updated
framework of financial health and stability to guide the City's financial planning and decisions.
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution and Attachment A
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): There is no budgetary cost to implement. It is
expected that implementation of the policies will improve the overall process and results of City
financial planning and budgeting.
