SUMMARY: The Bremerton Municipal Code authorizes the Risk Management Specialist, with the
approval of the City Attorney, to bind insurance and then requires City Council approval for
continuation of the bound coverage. Excess liability coverage has been bound with Lexington
Insurance Company at an annual cost of$142,940 (including terrorism endorsement, tax and fee).
Excess workers' compensation insurance has been bound with Midwest Employers Casualty
Company for a deposit premium of$49,029. Crime insurance has been bound with Great American
Insurance Company for$6,116 per year.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Adequate funds for these insurance renewals are
available in the Risk Management Fund.
