HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/21/2015 6E AGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Sodium Hypochlorite storage Study Session Date: January 14, 2015 tank replacement at the Westside WWTP COUNCIL MEETING Date: January 21, 2015 Department: PW&U/WWTP Presenter: Pat Coxon Phone: 473.5448 SUMMARY: The two existing 12,000 gallon fiberglass sodium hypochlorite storage tanks at the Westside WWTP have reached the end of their useful life, and need to be replaced. We have received three proposals from the following vendors: Whitney Equipment, Grainger and Correct Equipment. After careful scrutiny of all three proposals, we have selected to purchase the two storage tanks, stands& associated equipment from Whitney Equipment, in the amount of $56,546.41. The two new tanks are made of HDPE, and are resistant to UV degradation. The tanks have also been reduced in size to store only 6,000 gallons each, (the old tanks are 12,000 gallons each). This reduction was determined through our historical use. ATTACHMENTS: 1) Purchase Quotation Sheet; 2)Whitney Equipment Quote; 3) Grainger Quote; 4) Correct Equipment Quote FISCAL IMPACTS: The Sodium Hypochlorite tank replacement is budgeted through-the Wastewater Capital Program and has a budget of$100,000. The total cost for the purchase of two (2) HDPE sodium hypochlorite storage tanks is $56,546.41 (includes tax&freight), BARS# 594.35325.
