SUMMARY: The Bremerton Municipal Court applied to the Office of Public Defense for a grant and
was awarded a grant in the amount of$13,500.00.
This money is intended to be used for improvements including continuing to adjust pay compensation
for contracted and conflict attorneys, adding attorneys to reduce public defense caseloads and
complying with the new Supreme Court Public Defense Standards.
ATTACHMENTS: Letter of Acknowledgment and Face Sheet
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The OPD funding is a revenue source for$13,500
to be used directly for Public Defense in the City of Bremerton Municipal Court. These monies will be
fully expended in 2015 to assist with public defense. There are no matching funds needed.

RECOMMENDED MOTION:
Move to accept the grant from the Office of Public Defense and authorize the Court Administrator to
finalize and execute the grant agreement with substantially the same terms and conditions as
