SUMMARY: Reservoirs 5 North & South, 8, 10 North & South, 21 and 22 were identified as "seismically at
risk reservoirs" in the preliminary evaluation following the Nisqually Earthquake of February 2001. This
contract with ABSG Consulting. Inc. will provide structural evaluation, recommendations, engineering design,
and construction support services to seismically upgrade these reservoirs within the City's water system. The
services shall be performed in two (2) phases in the amount not to exceed $25,735.00. A contract with ABSG
Consulting. Inc. in the amount not to exceed $25,735.00 has been prepared for approval by the City Council.
ATTACHMENTS: Professional Services Agreement with Exhibits A, B, & C.
FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Budgeted in the Water 2005 in the amount of $350,000 for
100% cost funded by FEMA-Hazardous Mitigation Grant Program.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve the attached agreement with ABSG Consulting, Inc. in the
amount not to exceed $25,735.00 and authorize the Mayor to execute the agreement in substantially the same
form as presented.
