SUBJECT: Professional Services
Agreement with Merchant Patrol for security
services at the Conference Parking Garage
SUMMARY: Staff is entering into a new Professional Services Agreement with Merchant Patrol
Security Service, Inc. for two (2) years, from 5-05-05 to 12-31-06, for security services and facility
access control as required at the Conference Center Parking Facility located at 100 Washington
Avenue. Compensation is $33,400.00 annually. Merchant Patrol Security Services, Inc. has been
performing security services for the City as a subcontractor for Diamond Parking Services at the
4th/Washington Parking Garage for the last six (6) years.

FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Funds were not budgeted in the current FY05
Budget. Therefore, funding for this contract will require a budget adjustment and come from the
Parking Fund 2005 Ending Fund Balance.

RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve addi onal expenditures of $22,000 for 2005 for
the Parking System Fund 105 and to approve a Professional Services Agreement with Merchant
Patrol Security Services, Inc. for security services in the Conference Center Parking Garage and direct
the Mayor to execute the agreement in substantially the same form as presented.
