HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/01/2014 6A AGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Study Session Date: N/A Real Estate Purchase and Sale Agreement COUNCIL MEETING Date: October 1, 2014 with Bremerton/Stephanus II, LLC (John Department: Public Works& Utilities Stephanus)for Right of Way on Lower Presenter: Chal Martin Wheaton Way(LWW) Project Phone: (360)473-5758 SUMMARY: In construction of the project, a CenturyLink vault was uncovered on the south side of E. 18'' Street. Lowering the vault and associated duct bank is possible, but the time required to do so could potentially delay the project. Staff, working with the project design consultant, identified an alternate roadway design that would allow the vault to remain, does not significantly alter the roadway grade, and still allows for large truck and bus turning movements at the intersection with Wheaton Way. The new alignment does require the purchase of 648 square feet of private property from John Stephanus which he has agreed to for$2,500. CenturyLink has agreed to reimburse the City for all costs related to this property purchase and re-alignment of the roadway. ATTACHMENTS: 1.) Real Estate Purchase and Sale Agreement, with Exhibits A and B FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): Total cost to the City for this revision is approximately$47,000 for which CenturyLink will be reimbursing the City.
