HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/17/2014 7C AGENDA BILL 74�o CITY OF BREMERTON CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Acceptance of the Lodging Tax Study Session Date: Aug.13 &Sept.10, 2014 Advisory Committee's COUNCIL MEETING Date: September 17, 2014 Recommendations for Fiscal Department: City Council Year 2015 Allocations Presenter: Dino Davis, LTAC Chair Phone: (360)473-5280 SUMMARY: The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) received eight (8)total requests for funding for Fiscal Year 2015. Committee members reached consensus and are recommending funding to seven (7) of the applicants and hope as in previous years that any additional revenue be put into reserve which will allow the City to honor its agreements, even in years when actual revenue comes in less than projections. The City anticipates approximately$100,000 in revenue to be available for distribution to the approved recipients. Also, the City allocates$155,000 for the Kitsap Conference Center and $150,000 to the Admiral Theatre Foundation. ATTACHMENTS: 1) FY2015 Lodging Tax Advisory Committee Recommendations Summary 2) Memorandum FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): If the recommendations are not accepted by City Council, then the organizations will receive no funding for 2015. Collectively, this would drastically reduce the marketing reach of Bremerton by eliminating this entire effort. Less marketing would equate to less presence and ultimately less tourist related business.
