At the start of the project bid additives were rejected including automatic irrigation to the parking lot planting islands. On July 10'h the Department of Ecology notified Parks and Recreation we had been awarded a $40,000, no match Coastal Protection grant. The Parks Department seeks the authority to increase the Pivetta Brothers contract by $14,098.39 to accommodate the irrigation and other incidental miscellaneous work. The attached change order in combination with change order#1 (previously approved) brings the total contract change order approval over the 20% threshold requiring council approval.
