This upgrade will not increase overall FTE staffing for the Police Department In January of 2014, the Department reorganized its Patrol shifts from three large squads to six smaller squads. As the Department only has five authorized Patrol Sergeant FTE positions, one of the squads is being temporarily supervised by a police officer. This squad needs an actual Sergeant. The Department has completed a Sergeant's promotional process and intends to promote one of the top candidates from the promotional list to the rank of Sergeant. ATTACHMENTS: Appendix A to the Agreement between the City of Bremerton and the Bremerton Police Officers Guild FISCAL IMPACTS The Department intends to absorb the increased cost of this promotion within its existing 2014 budget.
