HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/02/2014 7B AGENDA BILL CITY OF BREMERTON 7 CITY COUNCIL SUBJECT: Selection of Project Study Session Date: June 25, 2014 Configuration for Washington Avenue COUNCIL MEETING Date: July 2, 2014 Improvements (5 Street to Manette Bridge) Department: PW&U Presenter: Chal Martin Phone: 473 -5758 SUMMARY: The City received a $1.7 million bicycle /pedestrian grant to improve a segment of Washington Avenue between 5 street and the Manette bridge. Over the last several months, three possible configurations emerged: • Option 1: one vehicular travel lane northbound and southbound • Option 2: two lanes northbound, one lane southbound • Option 3: two lanes northbound only from 6 Street to the Manette Bridge. At its Study Session on June 25, 2014, the Council narrowed the options to either Option 1 or Option 3. ATTACHMENTS: 1) Summary of June 25 Study Session discussion; 2) Synopsis of Public Input; 3) Decision Matrix; 4) Consultant Decision Memo; and 5) Staff Recommendation FISCAL IMPACTS (Include Budgeted Amount): The street component of this project is funded 100% by a State - sourced Bicycle /Pedestrian grant of $1.7 million. The Utility work is programmed in the City's draft 2015 capital improvement program.
